The Industrial Revolution took place during the 18th to 19th centuries. The Industrial Revolution was a period where rural societies in Europe and America became industrial and urban. Before the Industrial Revolution, which started in Britain in the late 1700s, manufacturing was normally done in people’s homes instead of a factory, using hand tools or basic machines. Industrialization marked a shift to powered, special-purpose machinery, factories and mass production. Without Industrialization, we wouldn’t have the manufactured goods that we have today. The room is crowed with machines and men. Not much space to move. The men are using heavy tools to make the iron and wearing long clothing to protect t heir bodies. The room is so loud that you can’t even hear yourself think. I can see the men holding in pain and tears as they continue working. The tired men are working long hours without many breaks and little of pay. It shows human labor that was needed to keep the machines and the factory running smoothly. â€Å"Three thousand workers were employed in seven principal furnaces, 71 puddling furnaces, and 33 smelting furnaces. He’s not tired and hot. He is the one in charge. The one who doesn’t have to work while the others work so hard and so long. Menzel put the painting into three stages based on the men’s work day.
